“Pottery was suppose to be my retirement hobby”

Anyone who has met me, knows I was never really going to retire. But I thought I needed something to challenge me, when I wasn’t working. As always my impatience got the better of me, so here I am with 4 years to go until I can retire. With a wheel and a kiln and a bucket load of enthusiasm.

I have discovered I like to throw pots. Hand building is good and needs very little equipment. but throwing is where my heart is. I initially thought I would just love to decorate the pots I made. I never for one minute thought I would become obsessed with the structure and complexity of throwing a pot.

Now we dont have the shop, I have more time develop some collections .

My first collection is probably going to be my Love of little cottages. Working in Polperro, the sea and cottages were always going to inspire me. But with more time up on Bodmin moor. The more I love the greens, purples and yellows.
